Uses Digital Dispatch Systems Taxi Track and Mobile Data Terminals (MDTS). This combination of GPS technology and transportation provides for the best, most consistent response times. The use of the Global Positioning Satellite system network in earth orbit, long used by military and commercial entities to determine precise locations, enhances the timeliness and response of the taxi dispatch system in general. The GPS system is a tool that DDS uses to track and determine the location of each individual taxi cab in relation to calls that need taxi assignment or calls that are being responded to.

DDS is a user friendly computer network using a Windows interface to facilitate ease of tracking and use by dispatchers. Dispatchers are able to instantaneously dispatch the closest taxicab to a call using the GPS system. The system can simultaneously track, dispatch, and assign hundreds of calls at a time with up to 1000 units of taxis, town cars, and shuttles. Taxi Track utilizes 3 levels of supervision through the computer database, call taker, and dispatch supervisor to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.

GPS technology is available commercially - with many modern day units that fit right on top of the dash. These units are capable of plugging right into a cigarette lighter for power. With A GPS unit, you will always be able to see where you are, plot a track to destinations, and receive turn by turn instructions to get there. For tourists renting a car or do it yourself tours - the GPS Unit is available commercially for prices from $100-$300.

Customer Satisfaction Survey and Response

The A Taxi Cab management team has been proactive in responding to the needs of the City of Anaheim residents and visitors. A recent survey by Schaller Consulting on July 20, 2000 revealed that the majority of taxi customers are satisfied or very satisfied with service from current Anaheim licensed companies. Simply put, customer satisfaction was, "quite high." The percentage of residents and visitors that rated A Taxi Cab and Yellow Cab of Northern Orange County as either excellent or good was pegged at 86% for residents and 92% for visitors.
